Southern Traditions, A Group Show

Due to continuing concerns over COVID-19 and in accordance with Governor McMaster's orders, the Sanctuary Resort and Wells Gallery will remain closed through April 15th. As a result, this will be an ONLINE show!

Matt is working on plans to go live on Facebook during the event on April 10th for a painting demonstration in his studio.

A tradition is a custom passed down from generation to generation. We have cultural traditions and family traditions, and each contributes to a sense of practice and belonging. In the Southern US we have the traditions of Sunday suppers created from recipe cards handed down through the years. We sit on the porch and watch the sunset on a warm and humid evening. We comb the beaches looking for seashells and soak-in the sun while kayaking down the meandering marsh estuaries. In celebration of this, Wells gallery brings you Southern Traditions, a group show. Each artist has created works exploring their personal family customs and the rituals we all share. Over 30 new paintings will be on display April 10th & 11th in the gallery with live painting demonstrations by Matt Constantine and Michael Reibel. The works will also be in an online exhibit at wellsgallery.com beginning April 10th for those practicing social distancing. We invite you to enjoy the new works and find a piece that reflects a beloved tradition you hold dear.
